Chapter 024: Reputation (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0231.  ஈதல் இசைபட வாழ்தல் அதுவல்லது
           ஊதியம் இல்லை உயிர்க்கு

           No greater renumeration for human than 
           giving & living with fame

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: There is no greater renumeration for human being, than
           the two factors of giving others and living with fame.

           There is no better Guru for exploring people, than the two factors of fearing ethics 
           and learning with rational.

0232.  உரைப்பார் உரைப்பவை எல்லாம் இரப்பார்க்கொன்று

           ஈவார்மேல் நிற்கும் புகழ்

          Whoever appreciate whatever for giving the needy,
           will become permanent reputations

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: All appreciations conveyed by the appreciators, for
           giving the requirements to those who ask, will become as permanent reputation for
            the givers.

           All claims as spiritualities by the theists, for teaching the humanity to those who
           seek, will become as birth-benefit for the teachers.

0233.  ஒன்றா உலகத்து உயர்ந்த புகழல்லால்
           பொன்றாது நிற்பதொன் றில்

           In this peerless world, nothing can
           permanently exist like reputation

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: In this peerless world; nothing else can permanently
           exist without decay, like the magnificent reputation.

(Likewise...)

           In the priceless body; nothing else can continuously function without rest, like the
           sacred soul.

0234.  நிலவரை நீள்புகழ் ஆற்றின் புலவரைப்
           போற்றாது புத்தேள் உலகு

           Heaven won't praise Gods, if everlasting
           reputations established on earth

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If people do deeds to establish the everlasting
           reputations on earth, "world of God (heaven)" will praise such people instead of
           praising the Gods.

           If the stable wealth called education is taught based on socialism, "world of learners"
           will adore such Gurus instead of adoring the wealth.

0235.  நத்தம்போல் கேடும் உளதாகும் சாக்காடும்
           வித்தகர்க் கல்லால் அரிது

           It's impossible for non-experts, to exist
           like conch without body

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Other than the expert people, who do the reputed
           deeds; it is impossible for the rest, to live forever after loosing the body - like conch.

           Other than the kind people, who express the humane filled feelings; it is uneasy for
           the rest, to be valued after breaking the relationship - like ivory.

0236.  தோன்றின் புகழொடு தோன்றுக அஃதிலார்
           தோன்றலின் தோன்றாமை நன்று

           If appeared, appear with fame; better
           the rest don’t appear

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If appeared on the stage called world, one should have
           the courage to convert the birth as reputed! The birth of those who could not convert
           so, is equivalent to not appeared.

(Likewise...)

           If bonded in the relation called friendship, one should have the zealous to make the
           friendship as understandable! The friendship of those who could not make so, is on
           par to not bonded.

0237.  புகழ்பட வாழாதார் தந்நோவார் தம்மை
           இகழ்வாரை நோவது எவன்

           Those don't live with fame should blame selves;
           why blaming the critics?

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who do not live with fame, should only blame
           themselves! What is the reason in blaming the people who criticize them?

           The leaders who do not establish the democracy, should only punish themselves!
           What is the justice in punishing the opponents who criticize them?

0238.  வசையென்ப வையத்தார்க் கெல்லாம் இசையென்னும்
           எச்சம் பெறாஅ விடின்

           Blame for human beings is, not leaving
           the fame after death

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The actual blame for all human beings on earth, is the
           failure to leave the stable fame, after their lifetime.

           The real loss for those are in public life, is the failure to establish the continuing
           integrity, after their reign.

0239.  வசையிலா வண்பயன் குன்றும் இசையிலா 
           யாக்கை பொறுத்த நிலம்

           Earth loose it's blameless identity by
           bearing those aren’t renowned

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The peerless earth will loose it’s identity of blameless
           and ultimately beneficial, by bearing the body of those who live without renown.

           The unparalleled democracy will deviate from it’s stance of guarding the public
           welfare without evil, by supporting the reign of those who rule without justice.

0240.  வசையொழிய வாழ்வாரே வாழ்வார் இசையொழிய
           வாழ்வாரே வாழா தவர்

           Those live without blame are livings; those live
           without reputation are non-livings

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those live by eliminating the blame, for not having
           reputation, are livings; those live by eliminating the reputation are non-livings.

           Those live by removing the evil, arise from not having ethics, help raising the
           society; those who live by removing the ethics do not help raising the society.
