ஒறுத்தார்க்கு ஒருநாளை இன்பம் பொறுத்தார்க்குப்
பொன்றுந் துணையும் புகழ்

Punishing gives momentary happiness; whereas,
forbearing gives permanent reputation

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who punish the mistakes of others, will have a day of happiness; whereas, those who forbear them, will have reputation until the end of universe.

Those who asperse the ignorance of others, will have a momentary contentment; however, those who eliminate their ignorance, will have recognition forever.
