செவிக்குண வில்லாத போழ்து சிறிது
வயிற்றுக்கும் ஈயப் படும்

When there is no food for ear,
little is fed to stomach

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: When there is nothing to listen, which is food for the ear; a little should be fed to the stomach, so as to continue the listening.

When there is no thought process, which is happiness for the mind; the body is given enough happiness, so as to enhance the thought process.
