Chapter 056: The Tyranny (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0551.  கொலைமேற்கொண் டாரின் கொடிதே அலைமேற்கொண்டு
           அல்லவை செய்தொழுகும் வேந்து

           A king who persecute and practice doing bad,
           is cruel than who do murder

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The ruler who persecute the public and practice to do the non-
           ethical things, is more cruel than those who do murder as a profession.

           The person who dislike the relationships and ignore by speaking untruthful things, is more 
           dangerous than who gets bribe as a custom.

0552.  வேலொடு நின்றான் இடுஎன் றதுபோலும்
           கோலொடு நின்றான் இரவு

           Demand of those with scepter, is like
           those with spear say give

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The demand of rulers with scepter, for the possessions of 
           people; is like the pirates with spear, snatching the things of passerby.

           The request of children with job, for the pension of parents; is like the proprietors who give 
           employment, seizing the salary of employees.

0553.  நாள்தொறும் நாடி முறைசெய்யா மன்னவன்
           நாள்தொறும் நாடு கெடும்

           If king don't rightly rule by analyzing everyday,
           country will ruin everyday

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If a ruler do not apply the right scepter, by analyzing each day; 
           their country will lose the life on each day.

           If a society do not do the natural agriculture, by cherishing each land; it's progeny will lose 
           each tradition from custom.

0554.  கூழும் குடியும் ஒருங்கிழக்கும் கோல்கோடிச்
           சூழாது செய்யும் அரசு

           Government that don't explore, err scepter;
           will lose food and citizens together

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The government that do not explore, err the scepter and do the 
           tyranny; will lose both the food and citizens at the same time.

           The ancestry that do not realize, lose the patience and eliminate the relationships; will lose 
           both the culture and progeny in the same generation.

0555.  அல்லற்பட்டு ஆற்றாது அழுதகண் ணீர்அன்றே
           செல்வத்தைத் தேய்க்கும் படை

           Isn't tear from cry of inconsolable afflictive,
           a weapon to destroy the wealth?

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Isn't the tear of public who cry because of an inconsolable 
           afflictive, a weapon to destroy the wealth of the rulers who do tyranny?

           Isn't the curse of animals which wander because of the lost location, an axe to cut the 
           rootstock of the group who intend to destroy the forest?

0556.  மன்னர்க்கு மன்னுதல் செங்கோன்மை அஃதின்றேல்
           மன்னாவாம் மன்னர்க்கு ஒளி

           Scepter is the stability for kings; otherwise,
           glory won't be stable for kings

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Protecting the scepter, will give eternal-glory to the rulers; 
           conversely if tyranny is done, the glory of rulers will not be stable.

           Promoting the security, will give extended strength to the superpower; conversely if security 
           is worsen, the strength of superpower will not extend.

0557.  துளியின்மை ஞாலத்திற்கு எற்றற்றே வேந்தன்
           அளியின்மை வாழும் உயிர்க்கு

           Lack of king's grace to living beings,
           is like, lack of rain to world
    
           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The life of people of a country, where the scepter of king do not 
           excel; is like the detriment to world, due to lack of rain.

           The growth of children of a home, who do not get the embrace of parents; is like the 
           destruction of crops, due to lack of fence.

0558.  இன்மையின் இன்னாது உடைமை முறைசெய்யா
           மன்னவன் கோல்கீழ்ப் படின்

           Possessing is more misery than naught,
           under improper scepter of king

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: It is more misery to be a possessor than being with poverty; 
           under the reign of a ruler, who do not apply the proper scepter.

           It is more complicate to live with integrity than being a lier; in the sight of a society, which 
           do not teach the real life.

0559.  முறைகோடி மன்னவன் செய்யின் உறைகோடி
           ஒல்லாது வானம் பெயல்

           If king fail with scepter, monsoon fails;
           and the sky won't shower

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If the ruler do reign by failing with the scepter; the monsoon 
           will also fail, and the sky will not shower.

           If the society practice to live by failing with the ethics; the basic will also fail, and the 
           democracy will not establish. 

0560.  ஆபயன் குன்றும் அறுதொழிலோர் நூல்மறப்பர்
           காவலன் காவான் எனின்

           If guardian don't guard; cow's use reduces,
           those serve god will forget scripture

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If the rulers who need to guard, fails to guard; the use of cow 
           called  dairying, will decrease! Those who have the profession to serve god, will forget the 
           scripture!

           If the teachers who need to teach, fails to teach; the use of education called thinking, will 
           scatter! Those who have the basic of humane, will aspire the religion!
