Chapter 049: Knowing the Timing (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0481.  பகல்வெல்லும் கூகையைக் காக்கை இகல்வெல்லும்
           வேந்தர்க்கு வேண்டும் பொழுது

           Like crow win "night-owl" on daylight,
           king needs apt time to win enemy

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Like the crow win the powerful "night-owl" on the daylight, the 
           king should also chose the right time to win his enemy.

           Like the ant plans in advance for the severe monsoon, we should also make proper plan to 
           conquer the senility.

0482.  பருவத்தோடு ஒட்ட ஒழுகல் திருவினைத்
           தீராமை ஆர்க்குங் கயிறு

           Harmonizing to season is the rope to
           fasten wealth from emptying

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Realizing the time and acting by harmonizing with the time, is 
           the rope to fasten the wealth obtained from the deed, without emptying.

           Understanding the relationship and traveling by intertwining with the relationship, is the 
           chain to lead the progeny continued from the relationship, without breaking.

0483.  அருவினை யென்ப உளவோ கருவியான்
           காலம் அறிந்து செயின்

           Is there rare-thing, if done by knowing
           the timing, with proper plan?

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Is there anything that is impossible to those, who are capable of 
           doing what they do, with proper arrangements and by knowing the timing?

           Can there arise any unmanageable situation to those, who are courageous of depositing what 
           they earn, with fixed plans and by knowing the limit?

0484.  ஞாலம் கருதினுங் கைகூடுங் காலம்
           கருதி இடத்தாற் செயின்

           Knowing time & doing at apt place, will
           actualize even if world is targeted

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If the action is undertaken at optimal environment by knowing 
           the time; even if it is thought to conquer the world, it will be easily fulfilled.

           If the investment is made in a secured way by realizing the saving; even if it is aimed to 
           purchase the planet, it can be easily achieved.

0485.  காலம் கருதி இருப்பர் கலங்காது
           ஞாலம் கருது பவர்

           Someone who target the world won't
           turmoil but wait for time

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who want to conquer the world; will patiently wait by 
           looking forward to an apt time, without any anxiety about it.

           Those who have an intention to control the feelings; will zealously act by undertaking 
           appropriate training, without any fear about it.

0486.  ஊக்க முடையான் ஒடுக்கம் பொருதகர்
           தாக்கற்குப் பேருந் தகைத்து

           Standby of efficient man is alike the
           ram backstepping to attack

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The standby of those who have willpower; is alike the ram that 
           is getting ready for fighting, is taking a back-step to attack strongly.

           The patience of those who are practicing the politics; is alike the tiger that is getting ready for 
           hunting, is hiding into a bush to jump accurately.

0487.  பொள்ளென ஆங்கே புறம்வேரார் காலம்பார்த்து
           உள்வேர்ப்பர் ஒள்ளி யவர்

           Wise people don't express anger instantly, but
           reserve inside for apt time

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The wise people will not express out their anger in a hurry, but 
           will keep it inside until the time becomes suitable.

           The talented people will not analyze their failure immediately, but will drive the mind into 
           target until the mood becomes normal.

0488.  செறுநரைக் காணின் சுமக்க இறுவரை
           காணின் கிழக்காம் தலை

           Be patient when seeing enemies; situation
           invert when they face destruction

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: We should be patient and should not express the enmity, when 
           seeing the enemies; the situation will be inverted when they face the destruction.

           We should protect, so that injustice is not done as reply to an injustice; the head of justice will 
           erect when the end-time of injustice arise.

0489.  எய்தற் கரியது இயைந்தக்கால் அந்நிலையே
           செய்தற் கரிய செயல்

           If rarely available time is available, do
           rarely doable deeds then itself

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If there is a chance to avail the rarely available time, the rarely 
           doable deeds should be done at that moment itself.

           If there is a chance to reach the rarely reachable Guru, the rarely learnable basics should be 
           learnt without delay.

0490.  கொக்கொக்க கூம்பும் பருவத்து மற்றதன்
           குத்தொக்க சீர்த்த இடத்து

           Be like heron while waiting; and
           grab like it at ideal time

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Waiting for a favorable time should be on par to a heron; and the 
           deeds should be done like the heron’s ability in grabbing the prey at the ideal time.

           The prediction on dangerous time should be on par to a hen; and the emotions should be 
           restrained like the hen’s nature in embracing the chickens at right time.
