Chapter 029: Being Without Robbing (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0281.  எள்ளாமை வேண்டுவான் என்பான் எனைத்தொன்றும்
           கள்ளாமை காக்கதன் நெஞ்சு

           Those who don’t want blame, should protect
           their mind from robbing anything

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who wish to live without the blame by others,
           should protect their mind from thinking to rob anything.

(Likewise...)

           Those who wish to be undefeated by others, should define their action so as not to
           try swindling  anyone.

0282.  உள்ளத்தால் உள்ளலும் தீதே பிறன்பொருளைக்
           கள்ளத்தால் கள்வேம் எனல்

           Even thought process of robbing others’ stuff,
           with fraudulent mind, is evil

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Even the thought process of robbing the belongings of
           others, with a fraudulent mind, is evil.

           Even the verbal planning of backbiting the secrecy of others, with a enmity feeling, is
           unethical.

0283.  களவினால் ஆகிய ஆக்கம் அளவிறந்து
           ஆவது போலக் கெடும்

           "Wealth from robbing" will presume like
           enhancing but then decays

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The wealth resulted from robbing will presume like
           being enhanced unlimitedly, but will totally decay eventually.

           The pleasure obtained from drugs will imagine like being increased continuously, but
           will end up in hardships.

0284.  களவின்கண் கன்றிய காதல் விளைவின்கண்
           வீயா விழுமம் தரும்

           Increasing desire on robbing will result
           in never decaying hardship

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The increasing desire on robbing will result in triggering
           the hardship, which will never decay.

           The increasing lust on illegal affair will lead to the destruction of self, which cannot
           be rectified.

0285.  அருள்கருதி அன்புடைய ராதல் பொருள்கருதிப்
           பொச்சாப்புப் பார்ப்பார்கண் இல்

           Those await to rob others’ stuff, couldn’t
           realize grace & become kind

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who await for the inability of others to rob their
           stuff, could not realize the grace and become kind hearted people.

(Likewise...)

           Those who anticipate for the mistakes of others to criticize their skills, would not
           realize the ethics and appreciate the creation by others.

0286.  அளவின்கண் நின்றொழுகல் ஆற்றார் களவின்கண்
           கன்றிய காத லவர்

           Those have more desire on robbing
           won't live with definite

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who have more desire on robbing, will not have
           the morality to live with the definite.

           Those who have more focus on grudge, will not have the realization to love with the
           humane.

0287.  களவென்னும் காரறி வாண்மை அளவென்னும்
           ஆற்றல் புரிந்தார்கண் இல்

           Dark sense called robbing won’t influence
           those live with definite

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The dark sense of robbing others' stuff, will not
           influence those who are efficient in living by knowing their need.

           The evil thought of violating the law, will not dominate those who are capable to work
           by understanding their duty.

0288.  அளவறிந்தார் நெஞ்சத் தறம்போல நிற்கும்

           களவறிந்தார் நெஞ்சில் கரவு

           Those knew definite have ethics; similarly,
           those knew robbing have grudge

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The mind of those who live by knowing the definite, is

           filled with the ethics. Similarly, the mind of those who live by knowing the robbing, is 

           filled with the grudge.

           The mind of those who continue the search, gets stronger with the understanding. 

           Correspondingly, the mind of those who continue the corruptions, gets stronger with 

           the greedy.

0289.  அளவல்ல செய்தாங்கே வீவர் களவல்ல
           மற்றைய தேற்றா தவர்

           Who know nothing except robbery, will
           overdo & be destroyed therein

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who do not know anything other than the
           robbery, will do it without limit and will be destroyed immediately.

(Likewise...)

           Those who do not do any other action than the backbiting, will do it without guilt and
           will be ruined faster.

0290.  கள்வார்க்குத் தள்ளும் உயிர்நிலை கள்ளார்க்குத்
           தள்ளாது புத்தே ளுளகு

           Thieves miss life; who don't rob, wouldn't
           miss even the heaven

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who rob things, will miss out the life; those who
           do not rob, would not miss out even the heaven.

(Likewise...)

           Those who violate rules, will miss out the reward; this who do not violate rules, will
           not miss out even the eternal fame.
