Chapter 043: Possession of Knowledge (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0421.  அறிவற்றங் காக்குங் கருவி செறுவார்க்கும்
           உள்ளழிக்க லாகா அரண்

           Tool called "knowledge" guards from destruction;
           also inner-fortress for enemies

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Knowledge is a tool that guards someone from the destruction; 
           it will also be an inner-fortress that could not be destructed by the enemeis.

           Fear is a compass that protects someone from the devil; it will also be an anchor that could 
           not be redirected by the greed.

0422.  சென்ற இடத்தால் செலவிடா தீதொரீஇ
           நன்றின்பால் உய்ப்ப தறிவு

           Denying the mind to roam by excluding the evil,
           to follow good, is knowledge

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Not allowing the mind in all likeable subjects by eliminating the 
           devil, and directing it towards the path of good ethics; is called knowledge.

           Not spending the time in enchanting activities by decreasing the greed, and developing the 
           thought-process in the search of bliss; is called birth.

0423.  எப்பொருள் யார்யார்வாய்க் கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள்
           மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு

           Whatever heard from whoever, analyzing
           truth in it is called wisdom

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Whoever describe any explanation in whatever way, realizing 
           the true meaning of that explanation is called rational.

           Whoever insist any kind of desire in whatever way, analyzing the deep effect of that desire 
           is called self.

0424.  எண்பொருள வாகச் செலச்சொல்லித் தான்பிறர்வாய்
           நுண்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு

           Explaining ourself simply and deeply understanding
           what others say, is knowledge

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Rational is all about simply explaining what we know to others 
           and deeply understanding what others say.

           Humane is all about voluntarily giving what we have to the needy and accepting only the 
           required from what others give.

0425.  உலகம் தழீஇயது ஒட்பம் மலர்தலும்
           கூம்பலும் இல்ல தறிவு

           Embracing the world is knowledge! Having no
           blossom and shrivel is knowledge!

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Embracing the living beings of world is the best knowledge; 
           having no nature of blossom at sight and then shrivel, is called knowledge.

           Promoting the fellow colleagues is the noble honesty; having no characteristic of giving the 
           hope and then swindle, is called honesty.

0426.  எவ்வது உறைவது உலகம் உலகத்தோடு
           அவ்வது உறைவ தறிவு

           Living the life following how the
           world live, is knowledge

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Living the life to match the world, based on how the life is 
           happening in the world, is called knowledge.

           Formulating the plans by associating with the people, based on what becomes the 
           requirement of people in the society, is called democracy.

0427.  அறிவுடையார் ஆவது அறிவார் அறிவிலார்
           அஃதறி கல்லா தவர்

           Wise know what will happen; unwise
           are unlearned that knowledge

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Who have the ability to ration, will know the forthcoming 
           incidents in advance; who could not ration, will be those do not have talent to know so.

           Who have the understanding of feeling, will deeply analyse the effect of backbiting; who do 
           not have the understanding of feeling, will be those do not have ability to analyse so.

0428.  அஞ்சுவ தஞ்சாமை பேதைமை அஞ்சுவது
           அஞ்சல் அறிவார் தொழில்

           Hardihood for fearable is folly! Fearing
           the fearable is wise’s habit

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Not fearing for the ethical related fear is folly; fearing for the 
           ethical related fear is the nature of rational.

           Not hesitating for the heart-known betrayal is extremism; hesitating for the heart-known 
           betrayal is the nature of goodness.

0429.  எதிரதாக் காக்கும் அறிவினார்க் கில்லை
           அதிர வருவதோர் நோய்

           Wise people, who protect the future,
           won’t have shocking hardship

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: For the wise, who understand the future requirement and 
           make the plans accordingly, there will not be any hardship that shocks them.

           For the people, who analyse the merits of leaders and vote in the election accordingly, there 
           will not be any regime that trials them.

0430.  அறிவுடையார் எல்லா முடையார் அறிவிலார்
           என்னுடைய ரேனும் இலர்

           Wise people have everything; unwise have
           nothing despite having anything

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who have the ability to rational, are the ones who have 
           everything for life; those who have not that rational, will have nothing despite having 
           anything.

           Those who have love to maintain relationship, will have all the praiseworthy relationships; 
           those who do not maintain so, will be destitute despite having all relationships.
